If life wasn't crazy enough with working on our home, Ryan and I getting used to living together after having opposite schedules, trying to figure out my place in the photography world, enjoying our adorable lil' nephews Evan, Forrest, and Levi plus Vivian, our adorable niece... Ryan and I also have a puppy or at least is the size of one, Jack, who is a Jack Russell mix! How fun and YES, and a little crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Three Weeks and Counting...

Jill, Forrest, and I made an adventure out this past Friday... we learned that a baby and 2 hose reels do not fit in a cart at Lowe's... let alone a car! Turns out the hose reel got the front seat and I, next to Forrest! I was able to get a few shots of him at the 3 week marker!

Hard to believe that next week he will be a month old! How time flyes! Any cute ideas what we could do for some 1 month photos?!?

Another Busy and Exciting Weekend

Tomorrow is one of the most look-forward days at work of the year! I’m proud to say, “We are Farmers”! :) This gets Ryan and I one step closer to starting work on finishing the basement! YES!

My Fridays since Forrest have been born have been spending my time visiting Jilly-bean, Miss, Chlo, and little Forrest! Tomorrow is no different… it makes me look forward to Friday’s that much more! Crazy to believe that a baby can bring so much joy and families that much closer! The last 2 weeks he has started to change… being awake and alert more… seeing his beautiful eyes staring back at ya! He’s also gotten so much LONGER! Wonder this is a sign that he will be tall and skinny?! :)

The biggest event of the weekend is my 1st 5k of the season! I’m worried due to the temperature being at its high of 35 degrees! I’m going to do my best to run as much as I can but concerned that due to the temperature and my lungs, that I will be walking a portion also. It will only get better from this 5k, I figure. The Fifth-Third should at least be in the 50’s if not hopefully a little warmer. I’m also considering signing up for the Reeds Lake 5k. But first, I figure we’ll get the Eagles 5k over with before making anymore 5k plans!

Last but not least, we are celebrating Ryan’s 28th birthday with my family this week, his second celebration so far! I’m hoping to be homemaker-like and bake him a cake. Obviously, it would still be out of a box but it’s the thought that counts!

Have a wonderful weekend all! Be thinking of me at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning as I am running in Hudsonville!

Six Months

As of tomorrow, Ryan and I will be married 6 months! How time flies!!! Still seems like yesterday we were planning our wedding and looking forward to our honeymoon! Everyone asks “how is married life?” but it isn’t much different from the year before when we moved in to our house. The fact of the matter is we see each other less now as a married couple than we did as a dating couple. With work, we both stay very busy, which is great for an economy like this. It helps make our times together that much more special! Our goal is usually a great sit down homemade dinner on Sunday, just the 2 of us… since our Friday and Saturday’s have been very busy since the beginning of the New Year. We also do most of our catching up when there are no distractions, like the TV or computer, right before we fall asleep at night. I can say my love only goes stronger the more and more time we spend together! I appreciate him for all he does and the love he has for me! :) Happy 6-month Anniversary! Love you more!

Giving Up for Getting Back

I can’t say I’ve seriously tried to give up something I enjoyed for Lent! But after hearing people give up something very near and dear to them, which is also something not good for them, it inspires me to do the same!

With working 10 hour shifts, I am STARVING usually when I get home, even though I may eat something at 6:00 p.m. while at work. It is so easy, because of where we live, to make a detour and stop at the nearest fast food joint, mainly ones I can drive-thru. Some of the most frequented include Wendy’s, Arby’s, and on my Friday’s off, Adobe!

With the spirit of Lent behind me… I’m going to give up fast food for the next 40 days!

I thought about pop but that is too easy since I don’t drink but maybe 2 a week now… I also considered candy but I don’t eat as much of that to do any good… fast food is the perfect choice!

Please note… I am not including Subway in the “fast food” category since they offer very healthy options which are usually the ones I pick. Maybe more veggies subs in the next 40 days will be eaten than chicken bacon ranch to help back the “healthy options”.

In the scheme of things, this will help me loose weight and help in my 5k run(s)!

Starting tomorrow… NO FAST FOOD FOR 40 DAYS! :)

Quick Update...

Today, I am one step closer to accomplishing my list of things I’d like to do in 2011… re-activated my account at GRCC for a photography class! It’s a baby step since I can’t officially register for the class until May 3rd. How weird is it that I’m one credit away from being in the first group to register?!? I asked if I could get my transcript from WMU to help me out but he tried to convince me the class won’t fill up before I get a chance. Hope not!

Another big accomplishment I’ve completed is paying of my car! At age 28, I own my first car! It’s great to be free of that bill and I look forward to being free of other debit in our lives this year.

Last but not least…
BBR (baby boy Reil) is due to make his appearance next week, or at least that is Jill’s due date. As time gets closer, I believe we are all excited to meet him… not only that… but know his name!
